Local guide

Playa San Juan
The beach of Playa San Juan is located near the fishing arbour and is characterized by black sand.
Nearby you'll find parking, showers, a bar and you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas. This beach is also accessible to people with limited mobility.
We recommend a walk along the seafront at sunset, where you'll find various cafes, restaurants and shops.

Playa de Abama
This bay, protected by rocks, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Tenerife for its golden sand and clear water.
Playa de Abama is ideal for swimming and relaxing, but also for a family day with kids. It's popular for its intimate and peaceful atmosphere, especially at sunset.
To reach the beach, you have to park your car at the parking by the hotel and walk down the road or steps.

Playa Diego Hernandez
Playa Diego Hernández is a wild and little-known beach located in the south of Tenerife, near La Caleta.
It can only be reached by foot in about 20 minutes, following a path that starts from a parking lot near the golf course of La Caleta or from El Puertito. For this reason, it's never too crowded.
This beach, characterized by a mix of golden and black sand and turquoise waters, is the perfect place to relax or play sports with friends. We think it's worth the walk to get there!
Playa La Jaquita
Playa La Jaquita is Alcalá's beach. It has black sand and is divided into three small coves and natural pools that fill with seawater depending on the tides (free access).
It offers numerous services including showers, changing rooms, bathrooms, a bar, sun lounger and umbrella rentals, children's play areas and nearby beach volleyball courts. It is also accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The beach has convenient parking and nearby bus stops. It is well connected to the seafront.
The beaches
If you want to enjoy the ocean view, the sound of the waves and the spectacular sunsets the island offers, we recommend these beaches.
Small villages in the surrounding area
Tenerife is not just ocean but also majestic nature and characteristic villages that you cannot miss.
Los Gigantes
Los Gigantes is known for its spectacular cliffs, which can be admired in their entirety from Los Guíos beach or, better yet, from the sea during boat trips or kayak tours.
The area also offers a marina and a scenic promenade, several restaurants and souvenir shops.
Masca
Masca is a unique mountain village nestled in a picturesque gorge. It can be reached by car or bus along a scenic yet winding road. We recommend arriving early to find parking.
You can visit it by strolling through the narrow streets, admiring the church and the main square. From here the famous Barranco de Masca trek begins, a challenging route that descends to the sea (reservations required).

Garachico
Garachico is a historic and picturesque town on the northwest coast of Tenerife known for its well-preserved old town, the natural pools of El Caletòn, and San Miguel Castle.
Alcalà
Alcalá is known for its authenticity, its natural pools, its black sand beaches and its history as a fishing village.
It's the ideal place for those seeking tranquility and for outdoor activities lovers (beach volleyball, skateboarding, calisthenics) which can be practiced in the dedicated areas near the shore.
The area also offers a suggestive atmosphere, especially at sunset, with views of the island of La Gomera.

Teide national park
This park is home to Mount Teide (Spain's highest peak) and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can decide whether to walk to the top of the volcano or take the cable car (reservation required) and then hike the final few meters to the summit (reservation required). Additionally, the park offers numerous trails and all the informations can be found at the visitor center.
Routes for beginners: Chyniero, Los Roques de Garcia, Montana Negra.
Routes for experienced hikers: Teide, Pico Viejo, Alto de Guajara.
Surf
The island has many beaches with different characteristics. You can find suitable waves for all levels of experience (bigger in the north, smaller and more consistent in the south).
A very famous spot for surfing, body-boarding and stand-up paddle is Playa De Las Americas where many surf schools are located.
Before booking your private or group lesson, remember to check the tide conditions!
Diving
Tenerife is an excellent destination for diving because the water temperature remains costant all year round between 20° and 25° C.
The island offers a diverse underwater environment with abundant marine life. You can spot octopuses, rays, moray eels, seahorses, turtles, and, if you're lucky, manta rays or small sharks passing by. It's the ideal place for divers of all levels of experience.
Some nearby spots where you could enjoy this activity are: Playa San Juan, Alcalà, Playa Paraiso, El Balito.
Kayak
Kayaking in Tenerife is a great way to see the coast, volcanic caves, and marine life (including dolphins and turtles).
This activity can be done independently or with a guide in a small group. In the latter case, snorkeling is often included.
It can be practiced in various locations in the south of Tenerife, such as in the towns of Los Cristianos, Los Gigantes or La Caleta de Adeje.
